I cannot reproduce this specific bug with the saucy iso. However, it
was very difficult to run the installer due to a low framerate of the
overall system and no network connection through the virtual NIC.

Basically it would be good to know that last daily image that didn't
have this first daily image that did. Then we can compare the kernel
versions to see if something changed that could have introduced the
regression.
Did you happen to ever try installing a prior Ubuntu release in this
Quantal installs, and I can upgrade to Raring via apt.
