Using Ubuntu 12.04 on amd64 Asus K53S laptop.
Seen this problem today for the first time after standard kernel update to
version 3.2.0-57-generic on only one out of three USB ports on first reboot
after upgrade.
Plugging any device into that port causes the messages in log described above.

Philip Wyett, thank you for testing Raring. Would you need a backport to
a release prior to Raring or may we close this as Invalid?
** Tags added: bios-outdated-6.60
** Description changed:
Plugging in a USB device say a memory stick. Gives the following message
in dmesg.

It would be really appreciated if someone could backport this to the
3.2.0 kernel series which the LTS is based on.
For me the LTS Enablement Stack is buggy - samba segfaults continuously
when running under the 3.5 Quantal kernel and Steam client is broken due
to a dependency problem caused by
Philip Wyett, could you please test for this in Raring via
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ ?

This issue now only affects as I know it Ubuntu 12.04.1 and below. i.e.
Those running a 3.2 or less kernel.
The issue is fixed in 12.04.2 as default kernel is 3.5.0.
Quantal not tested, but same kernel as 12.04.2 so assume as above.
No issues on raring for me when tested.
