Synaptic crashes when trying to remove residual config files for

This is happening with my Precise Pangolin, my Quantal Quetzal and my
Raring Ringtale. In all the 12.x Ubuntus I use, Synaptic crashes when I
try to remove residual configurations from removed packages.
