surely it just needs nautilus (or better yet gvfs) to inhibit suspending
while such operations are in progress, in the same way that
totem/whatever do while media is being played?

I don't think that this should be a GPM bug. Basically GPM is only
asking X for whether the computer is idle. There's simply no one else
to ask. I think this is an architecture issue that needs to be solved
at a different level than GPM.

I've recreated this on Hardy Heron using gnome-power-manager version
2.21.92-0ubuntu2. I tested by using scp to copy a large file from one
system to another and my laptop suspended during the file transfer.
I'm assigning this to gnome-power-manager as I believe it is measuring
inactivity somehow
