Public bug reported:
When starting up from the grub loader, if kernels 3.2.0.35, 3.2.0.34, or
3.2.0.33 are selected, startup does not appear to occur. Instead, the
screen stays blank (completely unlit), but the machine is on. Startup
occurs normally with 3.2.0.32 or earlier versions.
Using Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS.
