a) We're not using Xubuntu, but Ubuntu.
b) It happend on the notebook of my boss. I can not install another OS there.
c) He told me it doesn't happen anymore because of some updates.
For me, this bug can be closed.

I'll add that eoy of the gnome is not the only affected application.
These days I tried to drag an image in the browser and X crashed with
the same error. Also, on the other day, I tried to edit an android
screen inside eclipse and again, the same crash.

It happened again immediately after I posted the above. This time a drag
& drop cursor (fist with +) was left behind. It stays above everything
else, even if I go Ctrl+Alt+F1.

AMD HD 7770 with fglrx.

Anyway, my boss told me the problem doesn't happen anymore after some updates,

This does not happen on another computer which also has a Radeon card.
It also doesn't seem to be related to a specific version of fglrx or xserver. I
tryied different ones.
