Does it still happens in Final Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 with the new Intel
driver? Could you recheck it with the Live CD?
@michelem There were some issues with the new Intel driver and console change
but they have been fixed before release for most hardware.

(Gutsy) in my laptop, if I try to enter in console (ctrl+alt+F1) I get a
blank screen and I cannot return in X neither restart GDM (ctrl+alt+F7
and ctrl+alt+backspace doens't work), I have to connect in ssh and
restart the gdm

It happens only with AMD64 port, before I was using x86 port and all
work great, I have an EMT64 capable processor and runs debian great, all
services work fine except xserver-xorg with driver i810, let me say that

I reproduced it, but I believe it's a kernel bug. The system locks up
entirely, no caps lock, no ping.
I'll see if there's some issue with agp/drm.
