Here is another problem I had today:
For some reason wireless would not connect to my network. So before
restarting I first tried to disable networking and then enable it. When
I did this, the only thing that was available after I enabled networking
back was wired network. There was no wireless
Maybe related to wpa_supplicant as I have been unable to reproduce this
issue without it.

I don't know if there was some kind of update that I've installed
recently but jut now I was able to switch from wireless back to wired
network. I was on the wired today, then switched to wireless and
unplugged the cable. Few hours later came back and plugged the cable
back in. Tried to switch

I can confirm this behavior. I am having the same issue with my Lenovo
T60. It has the same WLAN-Adapter.
