ok, looks like this problem occurs if you have (had?) the bookmarks
sidebar open. Someone can verify? And please verify if it happens with
tarball build from www.mozilla.com.

i experience this. it also doesnt update when i create new folder.
the new folder doesnt show up. but close the organiser and open it again and
the new folder is there.
real weird that habeeb cant reproduce. my installation is standard - no
extras. and fully updated

1. start Firefox
2. open the bookmark manager
3. select 5 bookmarks with shift and cursor up/down keys
4. press delete key
5. bookmark manager still shows the deleted bookmarks
6. jump to another bookmark folder
