I think I've found a workaround...
sudo rmmod snd_usb_audio
and add the line:
blacklist snd-usb-audio
in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
IT HAS ERRORS WHEN DOWNLOADING PHOTOS USING: gphoto2 --debug
--camera="Benq DC1300" --get-all-files
It MIGHT not be able to get all the photos, and it may crash o
Negative.
I have the same camera (plugged in atm) and it says the same error. I'm
a somewhat experienced Linux user so if there's anything I can do to
help please tell me, the error message renders me clueless :/

The above Wiki page is not relevant for your case. The DC1300 does not
fall into that device category.
I think Feisty (07.04) fix the permission problem you are having.
