I'm also seeing this occur sporadically. And once it starts occurring,
the only remedy that seems to work, so far, is to unplug my bluetooth
dongle and then plug it back in.

I'm seeing a lot of these messages in dmesg in Lucid 64 bit
(2.6.32-24-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 20 14:21:58 UTC 2010 x86_64
GNU/Linux), and am wondering if this has anything to do with some
annoying behaviour I've been seeing lately. (when typing fast, system
monitor applet shows 100% iowait

Is simply running the CD likely to tell us anything useful?. Wouldn't I

DaveAbrahams - Yes, running the live CD may reveal useful information.
I believe this is an issue with the driver for your bluetooth hardware
so should be testable just booting the desktop CD.

I see the same in my syslog and also my bluetooth mouse doesn't work. Then if I
switch the mouse off/on it starts working and syslog gives the following
