I believe that this bug has been corrected in Ubuntu hardy
openoffice.org 1:2.4.0~rc2-1ubuntu3 so I am marking it as Fix Released.
If after upgrading you continue to have problems with this issue then
feel free to reopen this bug.

The same bug.
Ubuntu 7.04 (Fiesty Fawn), OOO 2.2.
Using Impress, when trying to modify text fields, CPU goes up to 100%, system
hangs for a while, then CPU goes back to normal.
With one file only.
Reproducible.
Additional info:
I started the file under XP (SP2, OOO2.2), then reopened in Ubuntu

I opened bug 112998 for the last crash; actually it did not crashed but
hangs with 100% CPU, sorry for the confusion.
How long does it take, usually, for the hang to happen?
Sometimes several hours but sometimes a few minutes. In the moment it
happens rarely.

Crowding them in one report, is not helpful to the developers.
Anyway, maybe you could answer the questions above, now?
Maybe you could try with another document and see if it still hangs?

Sorry but I don't want to publish the document. Please let me know if I
could do anything else. In the end of the month I would agree to send
the document to a particular developer if he/she promises not to publish
it.

I was able to reproduce the bug - nearly. In fact OOo did not hang but
became very nonrespondent so that I need to restart OOo. Hope it helps
anyway. I will attach another log if the OOo really hangs.

Sorry for missing the required information: I am using Ubuntu Feisty
with OOo 2.2.0-1ubuntu3.
Until now I was not able to reproduce the bug but I expect to get it in
the next few days. So please be patient. In the meanwhile I experienced
a total crash of OOo but different than the bug I reported
