Thanks for the update.
I have been using gksu nautilus to change ownership of each newly
formatted ext4 partition and/or root-owned files that I need to rename,
modify or delete from time to time. One such use is with fstab. I
prefer to rename it and modify a copy. When happy with the
Running gksu nautilus is not supported. Please see bug 389847 for the
request for nautilus to support doing things with elevated permissions.
