There's not really anything to be done here. The entries in the
Attachment pane are application-specific settings that are meant to
override desktop settings, and none of these are set by default (so
Thunderbird always uses your desktop settings). There is already an
option to delete entries from t
Attached is my mimeTypes.rdf, but after adjusting HTTP, HTTPS, and HTML
as described in previous comment. FTP is not adjusted.

This works as expected here. It's more than likely a local configuration
issue. Could you please attach the mimeTypes.rdf file from your
Thunderbird profile, and also your
~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list.
