I have a similar behaviour.
The indicar tell me that the mouse battery is not preset (look at the
screenshot)

I don't get any notification at all: though the mouse is connected and working,
I don't see anything in the battery indicator.
I have this Bluetooth mouse: http://trust.com/products/product.aspx?artnr=16980
I don't know if this is a problem of the battery indicator or my mouse cannot
check
