Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed
in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Lucid Lynx. It won't be
fixed in previous versions of Ubuntu because the package doesn't fit the
requirements

As a workaround until something is implemented, upstreams says that you
can use the following trick :
1. Click in cell.
2. Right-click in Sum=... area at the bottom right of the window and select
maximum precision.
The precision will be maximal in the sum field at the bottom of the
screen.
