reasonable. There is no regression with the addition; with the suggested

small, it isn't planned to be backported to Hardy.

I don't agree that the problem is small.
The FIX is small, but the problem is big: it basically means that the
/net map is completely unusable in Hardy, for any environment where
filesystems are exported with different permissions to different sets of
hosts.
As I mentioned above, this is an extre

I agree, I user Ubuntu Feisty and switched to Hardy lately and this bug came to
me as a non-sense.
I'm also having trouble with Nautilus and authicated Samba shares.
Things like that, that used to work well, should not be broken in the latest
release.

have exactly the same broken behavior as before, and when I look in
/etc/auto.net I see it is still using sort -k, not sort -u:

I didn't notice this because I pulled the .deb and installed it by hand
to test
I just want to bump this, as I tried the package 4.1.4+debian-2.1ubuntu2 by
manually installing it on my Hardy installation (using Ubuntu Studio 8.04) and
it doesn't fix my problem to use autofs /net.
I also tried to use the defaut hardy autofs package and patch /etc/auto.net
file manually then

This bug is NOT fixed. Please reopen it. After installing, I still
have exactly the same broken behavior as before, and when I look in
/etc/auto.net I see it is still using sort -k, not sort -u:
$SHOWMOUNT | LC_ALL=C cut -d' ' -f1 | LC_ALL=C sort -k 1 | \
Looking at the debdiff attached

Ouch; yoyoq is right. The new version 4.1.4+debian-2.1ubuntu2 is in the
pool, but it's not listed in any of the hardy Packages file; I've looked
in all of them (hardy, hardy-proposed, hardy-backports, hardy-security).
