Public bug reported: I am running 12.04 32 bit PAE on a Dell Latitude E6420 with 4 GB RAM and a 120GB SSD.
After the kernel was updated to 3.2.0-35 I found there was a persistent kernel panic during the boot process. Please see the attached screenshot. This problem continued after updating the kernel to 3.2.0-37. Using the 3.2.0-29 kernel, the laptop boots fine. The error message seems to reference the snd_hda_intel module. I cannot collect the requested info as per the guidelines as I cannot boot the problem kernels, but let me know if I can gather the information in another way. I have also attached the output of lshw in case that might be useful. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Attachment added: "Kernel Panic Screenshot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1116201/+attachment/3515610/+files/IMAG0188.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1116201 Title: Kernel Panic at boot on 3.2.0-35 and 3.2.0-37 Dell Latitude E6420 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1116201/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
