Using the openjdk-6-jre package instead of the sun package, now this
problem is resolved for me on Ubuntu Hardy 32bit.

If you don't want to use openjdk, you can change the Orientation to what
ever instead of Automatic rotation (from Job options tab) for all
printers installed. Nerver mind the JDK

I don't know if the problem persist after upgrade to Java 6. In my case
I'm not able to upgrade because of my production environment. The only
thing I can assure is the softlink fix works with Java 5.0+ package

I have same issue with a java program that can run with java 1.4.2 to
java 1.6
With java 1.6 I can't print and the console show these messages:
5.05.07 09:38:52 - ERROR: EXCEPTION STACK TRACE
java.awt.print.PrinterException: Printer is not accepting job.

I think you should report this bug to Java (upstream).
