Thanks for your bug report. I experienced the same problem a few weeks before.
Please open a terminal and run: 1) "sudo updatedb" (this will update the database for "locate") 2) run "locate vmware" 3) run "locate VMware" 4) delete all files mentioning vmware or VMware (you may exclude directories containing vmware machines) 5) install vmware server As this is a bug within vmware-server (which is unsupported by ubuntu) I decided to reject the bug report.
