Do this command in the temrinal: sudo aptitude -y install gstreamer0.8-dvd
and try it again.
Btw, for anyone else reading this who doesn't know french, the error message
translates as:
Totem could not read the media type (DVD) becuase you do not have the
approprite plugns.
Now I see why I learnt

I have install your package. Totem read the first part of the DVD,"copyright",
but after this he don't work:
Totem ne peut pas lire ce type de média (DVD) car vous n'avez pas le ou les
greffons appropriés.

Seeing as its a DVD, you could need libdvdcss. You can get the:
deb from
