The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would

Forget about the ext3 thing... i dont have an ata2 disk... how could it
answer slowly if i dont even have one? Both of my disks are IDE

there is a new libata-based PATA driver for IDE drives. So while you
have IDE drives they are using the new libata driver and hence the error

Hi,
I got some errors here, but I'm not so sure about it, it tells me something
about ata2 responding slowly, exception in emask, the thing is that i dont
have an ATA o ATA2 Disk drive, i have 2 maxtor IDE disk drives...in the
live-cd i also get errors with ext3... maybe if i errase the ext3

better. Could you please try booting without the quiet and usplash
kernel options so we can receive more information about where the boot

Good morning,
If you are trying to upgrade w/ the live cd that is not the correct way
to upgrade. Use the upgrade manager to perform the needed tasksts to
upgrede your system to 7.04. Are you still having lock ups w/ this
problem?
