Feisty: KDE cannot set a PNG
Here is the file I was working with; it eventually worked if I right-clicked
the image and set it that way, but it wasn't working if I right-clicked the
Desktop, Configure Desktop, and tried to make it the wall paper then.

I downloaded an image (.jpg) and edited it in the Gimp, and then
saved/exported it as a .png. If I right-click on the desktop _> Configure,
it wouldn't set properly (as I've described). However, if I right-click on
the image and set as desktop, it does work.

Have you created the png in a specific way that distinguishes it from
normal pngs?
Ich have set the kde wallpaper to debian-kde_default.png and it works
without problems.
Please give us more information that we can reproduce the problem.
