I have not seen this problem in 8.04 so I assume it would be ok in 8.10

freshly checked out from SVN as of yesterday (10 Sep) and I still see
I have exactly this same issue. My Exchange evolution account shows new mail in
the side bar, but nothing in the mail message list.
I also have an imap account that works without problem: it shows new messages
in the side bar and also in the mail list.
It is random and a DEBUG gives no clue.
