If you take a look at this man page - it says nothing. pyftpd --help
doesn't work either.

Can you please inform us what release of Ubuntu you are running and also
could you run dpkg -s pyftpd from terminal without the quotes and add
the output here.
I was unable to reproduce this bug on 12.04 and 13.04 and found a
working man page.
