Thanks for your quick response, I didn't expect an answer so soon after
I posted my comment. Anyway the problem seems to have resolved itself, I
started Ubuntu and it had sound, I didn't do a thing. Maybe we should
chalk it up to opening night jitters. Thanks for you advice.
