My issue with Kernel 3.8.0.13 is that it makes ubuntu boot to "BLACK SCREEEN". I have 'Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)'. I cannot confirm if it effects the resolution because I just have black screen to deal with. I reverted back to the older Kerner 3.8.
