I tried use the kernel linux-image-3.2.0-32-generic-pae, it's OK. I mean
I only changed the kernel, so I think linux-image-3.2.0-39-generic-pae
definitely has the problem.

Title:
Thinking about this I believe that the kernel update was the problem
when my system was updated. I don't think that the xserver-xorg-video-
intel was updated at the time.
I attached the Xorg.0.log.old above. It's all I can get as the system is
completely unusable once it has crashed.
Would love

The principal information that I need is
/sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state, /var/log/Xorg.0.log (or

are beyond doubt it is an identical bug - we will find the right the

wow. this is obviously a problem for a number of people, so it is
disappointing that the ubuntu developer reaction is to discount and
invalidate this bug. we are all trying to help make ubuntu better, why
be dismissive about that?
since the graphics is crashing, it is extremely difficult to

this clearly seems to affect a number of people, and is quite reproducible (at
least on my system). can we mark this as confirmed? what is the next step in
order to debug and fix this problem?

i have also been affected by this bug, but i think it is not from
xserver-xorg-video-intel. instead i believe it is due to some change in the
kernel.
i have a core i5 based system using the integrated graphics, on a p8h67-m pro
motherboard. i am running 12.04.
when an update came out in
I have experienced the exact same symptoms as annnomius with similar
Xorg.log. I have a Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU and a P8Z68-V LX
motherboard.

Run apport-collect 1158293 after a freeze, though it sounds like a bug
we have already fixed in raring.

I reinstalled xserver-xorg-video-intel but unfortunately as the screen
freezes I am unable to use apport-collect start after the crash. I have
however got the Xorg.0.log.old which looks like it shows the problem.
I'll attach it, hope it helps.

Hmm, I think you have a mixture of bugs. That last one looks like rc6,
so appending i915.i915_enable_rc6=0 to your kernel command line should
hopefully improve system stability to the point where we can look at the
other bugs.
