Public bug reported: Hi,
The last week I've had several times a system freeze when performing disk-intensive operations. today on several 'cp' commands, two times a freeze (one with 5 cp-commands running, other with 4 cp-commands running) a couple of day's ago while resizing an ext4 filesystem (from 1.3T down to 590G using resize2fs) For the last freeze I took pictures, no log can be found on the disk, or at least not that I know of. I'm using the machine for kvm hypervisor, but I do not suspect that to be a problem (running only simple kvm's at the time with virtio, amd-d). I suspect problems in the kernel area, since problems show while using basic commands. The system freezes up totally, unreacheable over the network, keyboard attached is also not responding. Only a reset can be performed. I cannot tell copy commands were running at the time of freezes. I can tell resize2fs command did not complete at that freeze (so it wat running at the time).
