Looks to me that the BIOS is claiming that it's a 1024x768 LVDS panel.. (that
is, it explicit gives that resolution, not the lack of a resolution). So first,
blame your laptop vendors for f*king up the BIOS infos (it probably comes with

I'm having the exact same problem on a desktop computer. I have in it a radeon

Thanks for reporting this bug. Looking at the log, I think you're right
- somehow DDC is not getting properly detected for this hardware, and is
limiting the available resolutions to 1024x768 or less. I've reported
this problem upstream to Xorg.
