I ended up just deleting '/var/cache/apt/archives/hplip-
data_1.7.3-0ubuntu1_all.deb' and the error stopped. I'm not sure if the
solution was worse than the problem, but everything seems peachy right
now, and I figure that file can just be added back later.

Here area the two error messages I got:

The upgrade aborts now. Please report this bug against the 'update-
