Lynna, I have the same problem and done this (sudo dpkg --configure -a), next
thing I see on my screen is -?? how to proceed after this command??
(need some guidance here)

A minha atitude foi radical; desinstalei o programa e comecei do zero. Aliás
estou recomeçando. Estou aprendendo muito com esse programa. Bom, não sei te
aconselhar, eu também sou iniciante. Tô quebrando a cabeça, mas eu gosto. Um

Yo he resuelto mi problema dentro de la console poniendo sudo ante el
mensaje.
Espero que aprendas mucho de linux.

Am having same exact problem. Appears to be related to installing the
Gnome Package Manager / terminal and am unable to uninstall by any means
that I have tried either terminal or synaptic package manager or the
default add / remove software.
