Public bug reported: When running Ubuntu 7.04 from the live CD, the screen is corrupted when running at [EMAIL PROTECTED], the connected display's native resolution.
The corruption shows as 9 purple/blue 'fuzzing' vertical lines running from the top to the bottom of the screen, approximately 3cm apart from each other, with a slightly larger gap of about 6cm between the 5th and 6th line from the left. The lines are invisible on a white or black background, and fully visible on the default background. On a full black background, or the default background, additional, intermitting white distortion is visible when moving the mouse (??!!). Things I've excluded as possible causes for this corruption: -The screen: I've tried 2 different LCD screens, a Dell 1703FPs and a HP1755 -The VGA cable: I've tried another, much thicker VGA cable, didn't make any difference -Possible glitch in one single PC: the problem exists in both the GX115 and the GX150, whereas the problem doesn't exist when running Windows on the same machine, at the same resolution. The corruption disappears when lowering the resolution to 1024x768. Output of 'sudo lshw' on the GX115 (I'll add the output of the GX150 as well, if desired): ubuntu description: Low Profile Desktop Computer product: OptiPlex GX115 vendor: Dell Computer Corporation
