I just started having problems with gdesklets after restarting my system
today. It worked right after the Feisty to Gutsy upgrade. My
.xsessions-error log shows the following python error:
Shell/__init__.py:153: GtkDeprecationWarning: gtk.threads_init is deprecated,
use gtk.gdk.threads_init
I'm now confused. I removed gdesklets from my Sessions startup list,
but left it installed on my system so it wouldn't load on startup, so
that if there were any updates to it, I would see them. I rebooted my
computer again and gdesklets started up anyway and displays fine without
generating any
Check out a fresh version from bzr. I tested it on two different machines (one
x86 and a x86-64).
The problem has been fixed. Ubuntu ships a non-working version in gutsy.

I'm having this problem too with a fresh Gusty install as of an hour
ago, with the lastest updates. It happens when double-clicking on any
desklet.
