of 32/64bit, and solely depends on which mode names the graphics driver
provides. (which driver is used could depend on the address length,
though.)

Maik, no it's not your problem about Nouveau, it is a known upstream
bug, and there is a fix version in Debian already. I need to report a
bug to sync though, but I'm still not sure whether it needs a Feature
Freeze Exception.

I just tried the 32 bit from live usb session and also there Arandr
won't start. Starting it from the terminal results in the same message
from the first post.
Since i have a nVidia card and use Nouveau because the nVidia driver
just won't install properly, i started to
OK I know the problem now: I need to sync from Debian unstable (main)
for this. Let me report a bug.
