I've been having similar problems, not sure if my problem is this exact
one. But my machine does have r8169, and it does seem that like op every
1-5 boots or so I get a kernel panic. Mainline kernel works fine, only
the latest raring kernel gives me the issue.
I've also had another issue with this
Screens are posted in sequential order. I missed first screen on first
boot and had to reboot again. Then I caught it.
