Public bug reported:

On Ubuntu I previously used the Nautilus Bookmarks function. Now since
migrating to Lubuntu I've been using the PcManFM Bookmarks feature
instead.

However, when I try to load files using the standard file chooser
offered by GTK apps, the PCManFM bookmarks are not visible, meaning I
have to manually navigate through every level of my directories every
time to save or load things - pretty hard work.

Is there a way to either select a file chooser based on PCManFM across
all GTK-based apps, or alternatively to make PCManFM synchronize
bookmarks in a way which Gnome apps will respect.
