Public bug reported: Attempts to boot a current image of Ubuntu 13.04 result in a black screen after a period of CD/USB loading activity. The system becomes unresponsive and doesn't recover until I do a hard reset.
I can get to a console by passing "nomodeset" as a kernel option, but once at the console (only as a result of x failing to start), I'm basically stuck. This is on an ASUS G75-VX with an nVidia GTX670 MX. I have no reason to believe this card uses Optimus, so I doubt that's the issue. With only a day left, I'd hate to see six months of missed opportunities for Ubuntu because what might be a simple configuration change to enable VESA installations to happen still is missed. At least let people get installed so that they can try updating! ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: boot nvidia -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1172511 Title: Ubuntu 13.04 won't boot with nvidia GTX670MX To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1172511/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
