As far I can understand - it is time to drop GNOME 3. Modern Nautilus is
ugly, Evince is ugly, Gedit is ugly and so on.
I switched to MATE with its Caja and other good stuff.

Before upgrading from 14.04 to 16.04 I should have remembered I lost some hours
tweaking my system to make it usable not just like a tablet toy.
Among those tweaks there was the complete replacement of nautilus by nemo (or
something like this)
After upgrading to 16.04, the compress contextual m
F3 was very handy and I miss it dearly. Work around with two Nautilus
windows is clumsy. Dolphin is for KDE and on Ubuntu its slow and buggy.
