Hm, that gives me a crashing subtitleeditor.
Compiling with:
sudo apt-get build-dep subtitleeditor
svn co svn://svn.gna.org/svn/subtitleeditor/trunk subtitleeditor
cd subtitleeditor
./autogen.sh
make
sudo make install
gives me a working subtitleeditor (and I am not the only one:

system?
sudo apt-get build-dep subtitleeditor
sudo apt-get source --compile subtitleeditor

Is it not a bug in Ubuntu packaging when self-compiling fixes it? And if
it is indeed a bug in gstreamermm, does upstream know about it? Last
time I tried to contact them, they were rather responsive (and it turned
out to be a bug in subtitleeditor or Ubuntu's packaging).
