Yep, i think it was due to the fact that i used
I have Amarok 1.4.6 with Kde 3.5.7 on Gutsy. And I can not reproduce
this. I add a new podcast, exit Amarok, restart Amarok, and I see the
newly added podcast

Sorry, additional info:
the bug occurred both with the repository version (1.4.5 - kde 3.5.6) and with
the version compiled from the source package with: apt-source --build amarok.
Distro: kubuntu gutsy
Kernel: 2.6.22-4.10 (custom)
KDE 3.5.7
