still occurs. Opened new bug for it, bug #1178232 .

I can confirm the first error message on Arch Linux:
/usr/share/byobu/profiles/tmux:25: can't establish current session
byobu 5.39
tmux 1.8-1
The error goes away when the line new-window -d byobu-janitor is
commented out.

The can't establish current session error is apparently still present.
The correct way to fix it should be to replace new-window -d byobu-
janitor with new-session -d byobu-janitor in
usr/share/byobu/profiles/tmux.
