Public bug reported:

left clicking the applet should drop-down a list of connections, however
i get a pop-up menu titled "connection properties: eth0" (see
scrrenshot)

right clicking the applet should give me a list of option in which are
included: "Enable connections", "Enable Wireless connections", etc.
However, all i get is the gnome panel options -- Properties ; Help ;
About ; etc. --. ( screenshot not available )

the About option says the applet is: Network Monitor 2.28.0 by Sun
Microsystems. I remember it used to say it was NetworkManager  Applet
0.8 by RedHat...

i have network-manager and network-manager-gnome installed.

how can i get that applet back, any ideas please. i have exhausted the
google search.
