Public bug reported: dual-screen setup with two monitors. The second one is the extended desktop which is also showing the unity-menu-bar.
When there is a new mail for thunderbird, there will be a message count in the menu-bar http://alpha-unix.de/~iceroot/ubuntu/unity-menu-new-mail.png.png But this notification is only shown on the primary monitor. The extended desktop will not show the message count. So there is a normal thunderbird-icon. This should be changed, so that the extended monitor with his unity-bar should also show that there is a new mail. At the moment the only way to see it on the extended monitor is the systray, which is correct on both monitors http://alpha-unix.de/~iceroot/ubuntu/systray-new-mail.png (the blue icon) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: unity 7.0.0daily13.04.18~13.04-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-21.32-generic 3.8.8 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-21-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, composite, opengl, decor, compiztoolbox, imgpng, regex, gnomecompat, vpswitch, place, resize, grid, animation, unitymtgrabhandles, mousepoll, move, snap, session, expo, workarounds, fade, scale, ezoom, unityshell] Date: Fri May 24 07:13:59 2013 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationDate: Installed on 2012-07-09 (318 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: unity UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2013-05-06 (17 days ago) ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug raring -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1183666 Title: [unity-menu-bar] new mails for thunderbird are only shown on the primary monitor, not on the extended monitor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1183666/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
