How likely is gnome-settings-daemon 3.8 to land in saucy? If it's not
gonna happen, I'll investigate how to patch gnome-shell since multiple
keyboard layouts are quite important for me.

This is also currently broken in Saucy since gnome-shell 3.8 is provided
but not gnome-settings-daemon 3.8.
But the keyboard layout indicator works fine for me if I add the GNOME3
Staging PPA for Raring.
