b/ the Joomla odp from comment 5 open fine here on Ubuntu 14.04 with
LibreOffice 4.2.8. Likely you are either missing fonts used in the presentation
or you have broken fonts installed.

The font is ARIAL and is installed on my system, I also tried to delete
and rewrite the text from scratches without any formatting - just plain
typing -, would you please confirm that the issue does not appear on
your machine even if you click on the text (and activate editing) as
shown in the
alessandro pasotti, just to advise, this report is closed. Hence, if you want
