When booting with (/boot/grub/menu.lst)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.20-16-generic root=UUID=444ed7b5-72cf-
4b52-a770-d8ab4f5a5c51 ro quiet splash
the VGA-consoles have only 8 colors, all bright colors (yellow for
example) appear as dark grey. By omitting the "splash" statement, all 16
colors get usable.
Problem does not occur, when a framebuffer (modprobe radeonfb) is used.
Consolefont used was "TerminusBoldVGA"
