Stumbled across the same problems (playback too fast, choppy) with the
onboard sound from GA-MA770-UD3. options snd_hda_intel position_fix=1
does not help. Any further advice?

dropouts or
I've noticed that when the audio starts to get choppy, and repeats
really quickly, if I wiggle my mouse, the audio continues as normal.
Very strange.

Hi Daniel,
That is the guide that I followed which led to me filing this bug
report. After following the guide completely, sounds is now playing back
too quickly, and is pretty choppy.
