Any timeframe? I'd like to reinstall Ubuntu soon, so I'd prefer to try
xorg-edgers on a throwaway install, but I can only wait a few
days/weeks.

The logs were to confirm that there was no evidence of a more likely
bug. Now, the best course of action is to try the xserver-xorg-video-
intel from ppa:xorg-edgers once it is ready. Or just wait until the next
release.

The symptoms indicate unity hangs. The question is where - most likely
it is wait for a swap completion. Some logs and stacktraces from the
