You have been subscribed to a public bug: On an Idle Nexus 4 I ran fatrace and observed:
unity8(450): O /system/build.prop unity8(450): R /system/build.prop unity8(450): C /system/build.prop unity8(450): O /system/build.prop unity8(450): R /system/build.prop unity8(450): C /system/build.prop ... etc This file is mounted on a read-only system, so it won't change during the process lifetime of unity8, so I wonder why it occasionally polls this file? Can it cache this data rather than polling it? If we can reduce the polling it will reduce the power consumption in a deep idle state of the phone. ** Affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Expired ** Tags: mobile-power-consumption -- [unity8] polling of /system/build.prop on idle system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1191781 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
